| Celebrate Independence Day with Walking Souls and celebrate
your independence from compulsive eating on
Tuesday, July
1st or
Saturday, July
12th.
Since July 4th is the day we celebrate our countries
independence, please join me and the Walking Souls members
to see how you can celebrate your own freedom and
independence from compulsive and binge eating.
If you haven’t joined us yet, come for a free session (only
for people who have not joined yet) on
Tuesday, July 1st
or Saturday, July 12th at Eisenhower Park, Field #1 AT 9:30
a.m. See how Walking Soles can help motivate you.
The members have made such great progress in the past month;
they can all walk for 30 minutes without stopping (some
couldn’t walk for 10 minutes when they began). The group has
motivated each of them to go out and participate in other
physical activities since they are feeling better and better
about themselves. At the support group, we are working on
challenging our negative thoughts and feelings and learning
how to think more positively, and become more proactive in
our daily lives. The group is now talking about doing other
outdoor activities together, which they have refused to do
in the past because they were too embarrassed about the way
they looked... What a wonderful experience for me to see
them all out in the park, laughing, moving, enjoying the
wonderful weather and not obsessing about how awful they
look. The best part is seeing them laughing and having fun
as they walk and talk together.
Listen to what one member said about the program:
Pat:
I was very hesitant to join this group. I have joined so
many programs in the past, and failed to stay with any of
them. I always hated exercising, and quit anything I would
begin, so I was very skeptical about spending more money on
another program. After speaking with Dr. Porcello, who
convinced me to come for one session, my feelings went from
hopeless to hopeful... I have problems with my back and
knees, haven’t done any exercise in the last year, and
didn’t think I could walk with this group at all. When I
started, I had to stop every few minutes to sit down, and
thought I would never make it around the path, but Dr.
Porcello sat with me and encouraged me to go a little
further each time, now I can walk 1/2 mile without stopping!
Dr. Porcello has really helped me to see how much I was
isolating myself and getting in my own way. As a diabetic,
my numbers were out of control before I started this
program, now they are stable and under control. The other
members are wonderful, we laugh and help motive each other
as we walk, then meet back and have a support group with Dr.
Porcello. Its so amazing to hear other people share the same
issues that I have, and find ways to resolve my problems
with food. I look forward to Saturday mornings now.
If you have been thinking about joining, use this free
session as your opportunity to meet with me and have a
session. Come and walk the walk with me, it could change
your life!
Please call and register in advance for the free class. I
will send you directions to the park.

You can join at any time during the summer months.
I developed this program those of you out there who are not
motivated to start exercising, struggling with bingeing and
compulsive eating, feel isolated, hopeless and embarrassed
to get out in public. I really understand those feelings
because I was once in that hopeless place myself. Being over
400lbs in my past made me more and more isolated and
depressed. I know how easy it is to withdraw and isolate
when you feel so bad about your body and yourself, who leads
to a vicious cycle of depression, bingeing, isolation and
more weight gain.
My life’s mission is to help other compulsive eaters learn
to change their relationship with food, increase their
self-esteem, learn the skills of self-soothing without using
food, lose weight and change their relationships with
themselves and others, find their passions and overcome
their obstacles.
I have helped thousands of women like you find peace with
food, change their lives and lose weight.
Join me as I teach you how-to free yourself from your
negative inner critic and the self-loathing and self-hatred
destructive behaviors you live with every day.
I will teach you to make friends with your feelings,
self-sooth without using food and get moving with this fun,
safe group.

I look forward to walking the walk with you,
